Update on Kiribati-Fiji Services

Wednesday. 18th January 2012, Tarawa: Happy New Year to our valued Customers, Shippers and Industry Partners. Thank you very much your support in 2011 and your continued offer of support to enable us to get back on the Fiji market.

The suspension of Fiji services is still in place as the aero-political dispute between Fiji and Kiribati remains unresolved at this point. For its part Kiribati Government has refuted all the allegations made by Fiji Government and provided substantive evidence to support its position that the Air Kiribati operations to Fiji met the international standards, the provisions of Kiribati-Fiji air services agreement and conditions of its license. We are awaiting a response from Fiji. The Kiribati reply was presented to Fiji via a diplomatic note in October.

We remain committed to this market as our services have brought numerous benefits to the travelling public through lower airfares, better service and more schedule options for them and the shippers. We have been in constant discussions with our Partner Our Airline and they stand ready to commence services once this matter is resolved.

With elections over in Kiribati and new Government to be place shortly we are hoping this matter will be dealt with expeditiously for the benefit of the airline and the travelling public, shippers and our industry partners.

In the meantime we have provided full fare refunds to our customers who booked with us and apologise to them for the inconvenience caused to them.

We will make further announcements as soon as we are able to on the resumption of the services.

Please contact your Travel Agent, our GSA (Oneworld Flight Centre in Suva and Nadi) or Air Kiribati in Tarawa to rearrange your travel plans.

If you like to send us your messages of support on this service please email us.
